Yorktown Man Accused Of Stealing Car, Having Illegal Drugs

Police said he refused to stop the vehicle he was driving when directed to by an officer.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man stands accused of stealing a car and possessing illegal drugs. Yorktown Police said Shaun M. Noone, 33, of Cornwall Circle in Yorktown, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and failing to comply with a lawful order or direction of any police officer, a traffic infraction.

Police said that around 3:49 p.m. Feb. 2 they responded to a stolen motor vehicle complaint at 75 Cornwall Circle.

After receiving information about where the vehicle was heading, an officer located it on Route 6N where Noone initially refused to stop, police said.

Once the car was finally brought to a stop, the officer said he determined Noone had stolen the car and was also in possession of suboxone, a controlled substance.

He was placed under arrest and taken to the Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing.

Noone was processed on the charges and was released on $1,000 bail.

He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 8.
