Yorktown Man Damages House During Domestic Incident

Police said he fled the scene prior to their arrival.

YORKTOWN, NY — A domestic incident that caused damage to a Yorktown house led to an arrest New Year’s Eve. Police said Connor Sweeney, 21, of Longvue Street in Yorktown, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 31, Yorktown police responded to a domestic incident at a Yorktown residence. Police said Sweeney and the victim became involved in a verbal argument during which the victim went into the bathroom and locked the door.

Sweeney then caused more than $500 damage to the bedroom door, door frame and wall, police said.

He fled the scene prior to police arriving.

Police located Sweeney and he was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department.

Sweeney was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court, at which time an order of protection was issued by a judge on behalf of the victim.

Sweeney was released on $1,000 bail. He is due back in court Jan. 2.
