Yorktown Police Announce Memorial Day Parade Road Closings

The roads will likely close around 11 a.m. and will reopen about an hour later.

YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown’s Memorial Day service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28 at the memorials at Town Hall. The parade, speeches and ceremony follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Jack Devito Gazebo at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center on Commerce Street.

Yorktown police have announced road closings to ensure everyone’s safety during the parade, which will begin at town hall and travel east on Underhill Avenue to the intersection with Commerce Street.

The parade will continue north on Commmerce to Veterans Road, concluding with ceremonies at the cultural center.

To provide for safety of the parade participants and spectators, the following roadway will be close from approximately 11 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade, which is estimated to be about one hour, the Yorktown police said.

  • Underhill Avenue from Route 118 to Front Street
  • Commerce Street from Kear Street to Veterans Road
  • Veterans Road from Commerce Street to Maple Hill Street
  • Kear Street at Underhill Avenue
  • Downing Drive at Commerce Street
  • Hanover Road at Commerce Street
  • Front Street at Underhill Avenue
