Yorktown Police Chase, Catch Car-Theft Suspect This Morning

Police have arrested a suspect after a car-theft incident this morning.

A patron of the Valley Market reported at 8:03 AM that her car had just been stolen. She gave a description of the car, and Officer Jason Swart, on the way to the scene, encountered it.

After a short pursuit, the driver abandoned the car on Benedict Boulevard and ran away, police said.

Yorktown police set up a perimeter and a short time later a suspect was caught on Gregory Street.

The charge is third degree grand larceny, a felony.
