Yorktown Police Seek Public's Help to Solve Armed Robbery

The incident happened in the K-Mart parking lot Thursday afternoon.

Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery that happened in the K-Mart parking lot at about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 15.

A woman told police she was sitting in her car when a stranger opened her passenger side door, sat down, held her at knifepoint and demanded money. After several minutes he left.

Police officers, with the assistance of the Westchester County Police helicopter, searched the area but did not find the suspect.

Police issued this description of the suspect: a light-skinned black male, early 20s, about 5’8” tall, average weight, with light pockmarks on both cheeks, wearing a light gray parka type jacket with tan fur around the hood and a black beanie type hat.
