Yorktown School Budget Results

Voters turned out Tuesday to decide whether to OK the spending plan.

YORKTOWN, NY — Voters in the Yorktown school district went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to pass the budget for the 2018-19 school year. The $97.9 million spending package was approved 470 to 69, according to unofficial results.

The budget was 0.24 percent less than the current year. The tax levy increase is 2.99 percent.

The estimated tax rate change for Yorktown is a decrease of -0.22 percent. It's also a decrease for New Castle — -1.18 percent. Cortlandt homeowners will also see a decrease, estimated to be -2.89 percent.

A second proposition asked for the authorization to withdraw $4 million from the capital reserve fund, which would have no impact on school taxes. It was approved.
