Yorktown Schools To Collect Donations To Help Bus Driver

The long-time driver was displaced from her home by a fire.

YORKTOWN, NY — The Yorktown school community is rallying behind a long-time bus driver who lost her belongings in a house fire. The district is parking a bus near the Yorktown High School tennis courts Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon to collect kitchen items, bedding, clothing, small furniture and more.

The driver of more than 30 years was not named in a note the superintendent sent to families informing them of the donation drive, the Journal News said.
