Yorktown, Somers Weekend Weather Forecast Includes Plenty of Sun

It’s not perfect, but we’re looking at a pretty nice weather weekend.

We’ll deal with some gray skies today and a slight chance of showers. The high temperature will be around 60 degrees.

While this will be far from a heat wave, it will be noticeably warmer across the region throughout the weekend and into the early part of the new week, said AccuWeather.com Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams.

Saturday is the best day of the weekend. The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, temps in the mid 60s with a light wind. It will be a bit chilly Saturday night with temps back into the mid 40s.

On Sunday there is a very slight rain chance after 12 p.m. but also plenty of sunshine is also predicted. The good news is the temps will be near 70 degrees.

Ironically, the best day of the year weather wise, may be on Monday when it’s forecast to be sunny and temperatures may hit the mid 70s.

Here is the National Weather Service’s forecast for northern Westchester:

• Today-Cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers. Highs in the lower 60s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Tonight-Mostly cloudy. Lows in the lower 40s. East winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming northeast after midnight.
• Saturday-Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs around 70. North winds around 5 mph...becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.
• Saturday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 40s. Southwest winds around 5 mph.
• Sunday-Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
• Sunday Night-Partly cloudy in the evening...then clearing. Lows in the upper 40s.
• Monday-Sunny. Highs in the mid 70s.
