Yorktown Supervisor Slater Seeks Nomination For Assembly Seat
Matt Slater is in his second term as town supervisor.

YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater is seeking to run to represent the newly refigured state Assembly District 94, which now only covers the eastern side of the town.
Slater, 36, is in his second term as town supervisor, having been re-elected last year after running uncontested.
He told the Yorktown News he would be seeking the Republican and Conservative nominations to replace Assemblyman Kevin Byrne.

Byrne is giving up his Assembly seat to run for Putnam County executive.

According to his biography on the Yorktown town website, he previously worked as chief of staff for state Senator Terrence Murphy.
Before that he was executive director of the New Hampshire Republican Party and served as Mid-Hudson regional director for the state Assembly Minority Conference.
Slater is a Yorktown High School graduate and received an undergraduate degree in political science from St. Anselm College. He also received a master's degree in public administration from Marist College.
Assembly District 94 is now comprised of the town of Somers, the eastern half of Yorktown and the towns of Carmel, Kent, Patterson, Putnam Valley and Southeast in Putnam County.
