Yorktown Teen Faces Assault Charge for Bus Incident
Police said he punched a female in head numerous times.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 16-year-old Yorktown resident was charged Tuesday with third-degree assault.
Police said the misdemeanor count was leveled against the teen because of an incident that occurred on a school bus in the vicinity of 1143 East Main St. while returning to Lakeland High School.
An investigation found that the 16-year-old, whose name was withheld due to his possible eligibility for youthful offender status, punched a female victim in the head numerous times causing a physical injury, police said.

The defendant was arrested at the high school by police. He was arraigned in the Yorktown Town Court and was released on his own recognizance.
The teen is scheduled to reappear in court Jan. 13.
