Yorktown Teens Perform Open Mic at Club Fit

As women were visibly exercising in the adjacent gym, First Friday performers used the view as a back drop on Friday night at Club Fit’s Café. The Yorktown Teen Center’s First Friday Café Open Mic Night is co-sponsored with the Justin Veatch Fund.

Organizers of the well attended Open Mics have an added challenge this year as their usual venue, the senior room at the is undergoing remodeling. provided space for the teens to perform this month.

"We are taking Open Mic on tour" Jeffrey Veatch said. “Dec. 2 we will be playing at Yorktown Town Hall. We are hoping to perform at Town Hall until the construction is finished. The teens love to perform and the audience is so respectful and supportive of their peers. It has been exciting to see their performance skills improve. Some have won contests with their performances."
