YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY – The month of February is American Heart Month. On Friday, Yorktown officials and staff went red for National Wear Red Day as part of an effort to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease.
Yorktown Supervisor Matt Slater said, "Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. It was great to see so many of our staff help turn Town Hall red and participate in National Wear Red Day as part of a national advocacy effort to raise awareness and educate people about heart disease. A special thank you to State Assemblyman Kevin Byrne for joining us and sharing important information about ways to get and stay healthy."
