Yorktown Veterans Parade Kicks Off Sunday

YORKTOWN, NY — The town of Yorktown will honor veterans with a parade Sunday in Shrub Oak.

The 2021 Yorktown Veterans Day Parade will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

All veterans and veterans groups, and their immediate families, will assemble at the Lakeland High School main parking lot in Shrub Oak between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The parade will kick off from the high school and continue on East Main Street to the Lakeland Administration Building ground where there will be a ceremony at the Shrub Oak Veterans Monument.

The Yorktown Police Department said the following roadways will be closed temporarily to accommodate the event:

1. East Main Street from Lakeland High School to Sunnyside Street.
2. Stoney Street at East Main Street.
3. Stonegate Road at East Main Street.
4. New Road (east end) at East Main Street.
5. Dane Street at East Main Street.
6. Frost Road at East Main Street.
