Yorktown Woman Faces Attempted Assault Charge
Police investigated after receiving a 911 call.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown woman was arrested for attempting to assault someone.
Police said Maria G. Schmid, 38, was charged with misdemeanor third-degree attempted assault.
A call was received by the Yorktown Police Department Jan. 8 around 12:30 a.m., but the caller hung up without providing any information.

An investigation found that Schmid attempted to assault the victim, police said.
Schmid was arrested and taken to headquarters where she was processed and released on $500 bail.

She was issued an appearance ticket to return to Yorktown Town Court Jan. 10.
