Even after her retirement, she continued volunteering many hours at the hospital which she loved, and to which she was totally dedicated. This dedication was rewarded in her being honored with the “Beacon of Light Award” in 2012.

Indeed, the people she worked with were like a second family to her and she cared very much about each of them. It was so touching for us to talk to so many of her co-workers and friends, each of whom had a story to share with us about how she had reached out to them in some special way.

She came to America as a young child, but always remained in contact with her relatives in Italy. The highlight of her 90th year was a beautiful trip to her homeland with most of her children and their spouses, and her dear nephew, Stephen and his wife, Terry.

She was interred in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Mount Kisco, NY.
