1 Dead, 3 Wounded In Overnight Shooting In Apartment Building

Police found one man dead and two others wounded in a stairwell, and said another gunshot victim showed up at a Charlotte hospital.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating an overnight shooting near uptown that left one man dead and three others wounded.

The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday, in the Post Uptown Place apartment building located at 305 N. Graham Street.

Responding officers responding to the building found three men, all with gunshot wounds, in a stairwell. One of the victims, whose identity has not yet been released by authorities, was pronounced dead at the scene. Medic transported the two other victims to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, another male gunshot victim later showed up at Novant hospital.

CMPD said the investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing and said anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective. The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600, CMPD said.
