1 Dead In Crash Involving School Bus With 43 Students On Board
A driver was killed in a head-on collision with a school bus in a Charlotte suburb Tuesday afternoon. Nine kids were reportedly injured.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A driver of a car was killed and nine elementary school students injured Tuesday following a head-on collision involving the vehicle and a school bus in Monroe, according to reports.
The Dec. 17 incident occurred on Secrest Short Cut Road in Monroe around 2 p.m., WCNC reported.
Monroe is about 25 miles southeast of Charlotte.

According to the station, the bus was transporting 43 students from Benton Heights Elementary School at the time of the crash. Nine of the students were listed as having minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
