2 People, Dog Die In Southeast Charlotte Fire
More than 50 firefighters battled an early morning house fire that claimed the lives of a man, woman and a dog.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Fire officials are investigating an overnight house fire in southeast Charlotte that claimed the lives of a man, woman and dog.
More than 50 firefighters were on hand to battle the blaze that broke out shortly after 1 a.m. at the home located at 8315 Wingfield Lane. The fire was put out after about 40 minutes, according to fire officials.
“Roof of the home completely gone,” Fox46 reporter Lauren Dugan tweeted from the scene. Fire officials were delayed in identifying the deceased’s genders, she later said. “It took so long to figure out gender because burns and injuries made their bodies hard to identify,” she said.
