25 Nabbed Overnight In Southeast Charlotte Police Checkpoint

A police checkpoint in southeast Charlotte Thursday night led to 25 charges, ranging from speeding to open container.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Police cracked down on traffic safety violations in southeast Charlotte Thursday night with a checkpoint that netted 25 charges, ranging from driving while intoxicated to driving with registration violations.

Officers from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department manned the checkpoint in the 6700 block of Idlewild Road from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m., with an area saturation patrol until 2:30 a.m.
