25 Nabbed Overnight In Southeast Charlotte Police Checkpoint

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Police cracked down on traffic safety violations in southeast Charlotte Thursday night with a checkpoint that netted 25 charges, ranging from driving while intoxicated to driving with registration violations.

Officers from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department manned the checkpoint in the 6700 block of Idlewild Road from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m., with an area saturation patrol until 2:30 a.m.

Here is a list of the types of charges CMPD issued during the Jan. 25 operation:

• No License - 3
• Suspended License - 3
• DWI - 2
• Registration violations - 6
• Speeding - 4
• Open container - 1
• Drug possession - 6
