3 Teens Charged In Midday Murder Of 17-Year-Old Girl
Alysha Johnson, 17, was murdered Monday afternoon when she was shot along a Charlotte thoroughfare. Police arrested 3 suspects in the crime.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Three teenagers — one a 15-year-old juvenile girl— have been arrested and charged in the midday murder of a 17-year-old female along a busy Charlotte thouroughfare Monday afternoon.
According to police, Alysha Johnson, 17, was shot and killed around 3 p.m. in the 2200 block of Beatties Ford Road near the intersection with Lasalle Street June 17. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson was shot several times, however it was not immediately clear to investigators if she was the target or a bystander, police told WSOC. Her death marks the 56th murder in Charlotte in 2019.

Officers responding to the scene located and detained three subjects of interest near the scene: Juan Zamora, 17; Andy Garcia, 16; and a 15-year-old female. After questioning by homicide detectives, all three were charged with first degree murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
Zamora and Garcia were transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and the juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention facility.

CMPD said the case remained an active and ongoing investigation and said anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
