911 Call Tip Leads Police To Arrest Of Vehicle Break-In Suspects
Two 17-year-old suspects were arrested and charged after running from officers around 3 a.m. Tuesday in southeast Charlotte.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police are crediting a tip from an alert community member for the arrest of two 17-year-old suspects who they say allegedly broke into and stole items from at least one vehicle in southeast Charlotte overnight.
The neighbor in the 2300 block of Calabassas Lane in Matthews called 911 shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning when they heard a car alarm going off and several people running from the car. The caller was able to provide a description to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, as well as the direction in which the suspects ran, CMPD said.
CMPD responded to Sardis Place Apartments, where they located three suspects, who ran from officers.
