Adopt A New Furry Friend In Charlotte For Christmas

It's hard to resist these cute animals, especially when the adoption fees are free through Dec. 31.

CHARLOTTE, NC—There's probably no better gift for animal lovers this Christmas than bringing home a new furry friend. Local animal shelters make it more feasible by lowering adoption fees around the holidays.

This year, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control is offering a deal where now through Dec. 31 all dog and cat adoption fees are waived with a $25 donation to the shelter’s spay and neuter fund.

The promotion also extends to those who want to surprise a loved one with a furry friend: “We have a great alternative to make it a fun family affair! Donate and receive a gift certificate from AC&C that covers the adoption fee! Present it with pet related items under the tree, and then bring the family to AC&C to choose your new pet together.”

The certificates will be honored through June 31 and a $10 license is still required for Charlotte-Mecklenburg pet owners at time of adoption.

If you're still on the fence, maybe some of these adoptable pets will change your mind. You can see all available pets on the animal shelter's website so you have a head start on the adoption process at the shelter.
