Armed Robbers Hit Multiple Charlotte Stores Early Tuesday Morning

Four convenience stores were robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning and CMPD is asking for help in tracking down the suspects.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Four convenience stores were robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning and Charlotte police are asking the public for help in tracking down the suspects.

The first of the string of early-morning armed robberies of Charlotte convenience stores June 27 occurred at 1:23 a.m. at the Xpress Mart at 7837 Nations Ford Road. The suspect, described as a black male, about 5’5” with short hair and a small beard, pulled out a weapon before robbing the store. Surveillance video shows him wearing a red hooded jacket and light grey pants.

A 7-Eleven, located at 3301 Monroe Road, was robbed at 3:36 a.m. by an armed robber. CMPD describes the suspect as a black male in his early 30s, about 6-foot tall and wearing a black hooded jacket and dark pants.

At 3:39 a.m., a suspect with a weapon robbed the Quick Trip at 7205 The Plaza and fled the scene after he obtained property. The suspect was wearing a green jacket and black hoodie at this location.

Less than two hours later, the same man robbed another Quick Trip, at 6721 Albemarle Road, at 5:18 a.m. At the second crime scene, however, he was wearing a blue hooded jacket with black pants. CMPD describes him as a black male, about 6’1” - 6’3” with a medium build.
