Arrest Made In 2016 Family Dollar Shooting In Charlotte
Charlotte police say Lester Lee Artis shot a Family Dollar employee during a 2016 store robbery.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a 60-year-old man for a November robbery attempt of a Charlotte Family Dollar that left one store worker shot and in serious condition
Police say it was Lester Lee Artis who entered the Family Dollar at 1437 East Sugar Creek Road with another man on November 15, 2016, and shot a male worker after entering the store and demanding money. One of the two men was behind the counter attempting to take money from the register when clerk Timothy Laney approached them from behind and was shot in the leg and torso, WSOCTV reported.

Artis was arrested April 18, and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
