Arrest Made After Woman Found Stabbed To Death In Charlotte Home

Police said Anthony Garcia was arrested after Tierra Shontinae Watson was found stabbed to death in a Charlotte apartment Tuesday night.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A man was arrested and charged following the stabbing death of a 28-year-old woman found in a Charlotte apartment overnight, police said.

Police responded to the apartment complex located at 3500 Taurus Drive shortly after 11 p.m. June 16, after receiving a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. In an apartment, police located the victim, who was later identified as Tierra Shontinae Watson, 28.

Watson had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police also found Anthony Garcia, 28, in the home. Garcia was taken to CMPD headquarters for questioning. "We are not looking for any additional subjects at this time," police said.

Hours later, CMPD said Garcia was charged with the crime. "At the conclusion of his interview with Homicide Unit detectives, Garcia was transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with murder."
