Arrest Made After Woman Shot To Death At Party In Business Park

Ebony Tamia Harrison was shot and killed at a party in a north Charlotte business park early Sunday morning, police said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a woman attending a party in a north Charlotte business park early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the party held inside the business park located at 5100 Reagan Drive shortly after 1 a.m. Nov. 17, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

“911 received a communicating threats call for service; North Tryon Division officers were nearby when they heard shots being fired so they immediately responded. When the officers arrived, they located an adult female who had been shot,” CMPD said.

Police later identified the victim as Ebony Tamia Harrison, 27. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Responding officers detained suspect Corey Lamar Vega, 23, at the scene and transported him to CMPD headquarters for questioning.

“After interviewing Vega, additional witnesses, and collecting physical evidence at the scene, Detectives had probable cause to charge Vega,” CMPD said.

Vega was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said.
