Arrest Made In Car Crash That Killed Bicyclist In North Charlotte
Dylan Leviner turned himself in to police Tuesday, 10 days after Miquase Corey Maddox was struck as he rode a bike in north Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 24-year-old man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after police say he was driving “at a high rate of speed” when he struck and killed a man riding a bicycle earlier this month.
Miquase Corey Maddox, 18, was hit by a car driven by Dylan Sean Leviner, 24, shortly after 1 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 9700 block of Old Concord Road in north Charlotte. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigators determined that Maddox, who was not wearing a helmet, was riding his bicycle in the roadway against traffic. He was thrown from the bike and into the roadway when the the 2003 Infiniti G35 struck him.
He was pronounced dead on the scene, CMPD said.

Leviner, who remained at the scene at the time of the accident, was not under the influence of alcohol, police said. CMPD said at the time of the accident that is was unknown if impairment was a factor for Maddox.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the incident remains under investigation and ask anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
