Attempted Kidnapping Reported At Southern Christmas Show
An attempted abduction of an 11-year-old-girl at the Southern Christmas Show has launched a police investigation.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A man tried to walk off with an 11-year-old girl attending the Southern Christmas Show with her family over the weekend, according to Charlotte police, who say they have launched an investigation.
The Southern Christmas Show, held at the Park Expo & Conference Center, is a popular 12-day regional holiday event with more than 450 vendors.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police received a 911 call Saturday, Nov. 18 around 7:30 p.m. that a man approached the little girl and tried to walk off with her before witnesses approached him, prompting him to release his grip on her. He fled the scene, they told police. The girl was not harmed, CMPD said.

The witnesses described the man of possible middle eastern decent, about five-foot, eight-inches tall and about 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt and red beanie, and was accompanied by a woman pushing a stroller.
