Biltmore Estate Among Top 10 U.S. Attractions: Trip Advisor

CHARLOTTE, NC — TripAdvisor announced the top 25 hottest attractions this fall and a North Carolina favorite placed in the top ten.

The Biltmore Estate in Asheville ranked 5th on the list of Top Trending U.S. Attractions for fall 2017. TripAdvisor says the Biltmore Estate had a 20 percent year-over-year increase in search activity.

The Attractions Trend Index includes parks, museums and other tourist sites that have seen user search activity increase the most in September and October, according to the website.

TripAdvisor suggests North Carolina tourists: "[V]isiting America’s largest home will learn about George Vanderbilt's country estate from the Gilded Age.”

The top ten trending U.S. attractions for fall 2017 were:
1. Grand Canyon South Rim — Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
2. Ryman Auditorium — Nashville, Tennesse
3. Chapel of the Holy Cross — Sedona, Arizona
4. Coit Tower — San Francisco, California
5. Biltmore Estate — Asheville, North Carolina
6. Newseum — Washington, DC
7. Gateway Arch — Saint Louis, Missouri
8. Garden of the Gods — Colorado Springs, Colorado
9. The Johnny Cash Museum — Nashville, Tennessee
10. Heard Museum — Phoenix, Arizona

"TripAdvisor Attractions data shows that travelers have a strong interest in historic attractions this season, as well as continued interest in Southern nature and structures," Brooke Ferencsik, senior director of communications for TripAdvisor, said in a statement. "TripAdvisor offers bookable tours for travelers to maximize any trip and have a fuller experience than if they explored on their own."
