Body Of Woman Fatally Shot Found On The Side Of Road
The woman's body was found early Tuesday morning on the side of Tom Hunter Road, according to Charlotte police.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found shot to death along a north Charlotte roadway early Tuesday morning, marking the third murder in that region of the city since Friday, according to reports.
Officers responding to a welfare check found the victim’s body on the side of the road in the 1400 block of Tom Hunter Road, Charlotte police said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim was later identified by police as Therrisha Steward, 31.

The grisly discovery marks the third homicide in the West Sugar Creek Road area since Feb. 22, WSOC reported.
CMPD asks that anyone with information call 704-432-TIPS and speak to a homicide detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
