Concord Police Department and the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating the threat, CPD tweeted Thursday morning, saying it was “not a credible threat.” Schools, however, were closing out of an abundance of caution, it added.

“This is a coordinated decision between law enforcement and school system,” said CPD Chief Gary Gacek.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
