Charlotte Airline Passenger Jumps Off Airplane While On Tarmac

A man on a Charlotte flight bound for New Bern tried to bite a flight attendant Thursday before he jumped off the aircraft.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A man on board a Charlotte flight headed to New Bern, N.C. tried to bite a flight attendant before he jumped off the aircraft, according to reports.

Passenger Tun Lon Sein was on board American Airlines flight #5242 Thursday, when he got out of his seat, and attempted to bite a flight attendant who tried to stop him from opening the aircraft door, WSOCTV said citing federal court documents.

The plane had just pushed back from the gate and Sein was able to open the galley service door before jumping onto the airport tarmac. Two airport employees stopped him before he ran onto the airport taxiway, the report said.

According to the court documents, Sein was traveling from Thailand and spoke little English, WSOC said.
