Charlotte Elementary School Put On Lockdown
Thomasboro Academy elementary school in northwest Charlotte was put on lockdown due to police activity in the area.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Thomasboro Academy in northwest Charlotte was put on lockdown Tuesday morning.
The news comes on the morning of the second day of school for the new school year at most Charlotte-area schools.
The lockdown began around 8 a.m. and was prompted by Charlotte police action near the school, the school district’s police department said. “Students and staff are safe and awaiting the all clear, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Police said in a tweet.

The lockdown was lifted after about 30 minutes, CMS Police said.
Thomasboro Academy has been placed on a lockdown due to police activity in the area not involving the school. Students and staff are safe and awaiting the all clear.
