Charlotte Forecast: When It Will Rain President’s Day Weekend

CHARLOTTE, NC -- It could be a soggy long weekend in the Queen City region, according to the National Weather Service. Rain moves into the regional forecast Friday afternoon, with a chance of rain every day in the forecast though President’s Day.

Rain showers are almost a given on Saturday, when the chance of precipitation reaches 70 percent. Temperatures will take a noticeable dip that day, too, with a high of only about 49 degrees.

Today (Feb. 16)
A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tonight
A chance of showers before 10pm, then a slight chance of rain after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 47. Northeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Saturday (Feb. 17)
Rain likely, mainly after 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 49. East northeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday Night
A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday (Feb. 18)
Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. Light and variable wind becoming north northeast around 6 mph in the morning.
