Charlotte School Lockdown: Parents Allowed To Pick Up Kids

School officials say parents can pick up their children at Olympic High School, which is still on lockdown after an online threat.

CHARLOTTE, NC β€” An early morning lockdown at Olympic High School in south Charlotte is still in effect, but school officials are allowing parents to pick up their children. The lockdown was put in place early Tuesday morning after threats found on social media triggered a search of the campus by law enforcement.

β€œThe campus is secure and law enforcement continues to investigate,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said in a statement. β€œParents who wish to pick their students up from Olympic High School may now do so.”

According to the school district, officers will meet family members picking up students at the campus entrance and will escort them to the office to meet students.
