CHARLOTTE, NC β€” A Charlotte man is $110,000 richer after winning the Carolina Cash jackpot last week. Lonnie Graham purchased the $1 Quick Pick ticket June 13 at the Smoker’s Depot on South Tryon Street, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

When he went back last Friday to check his ticket, β€œhe heard a sound he had never heard before,” said lottery officials.

β€œI heard the winning sound,” Graham said in a statement. β€œAnd I couldn’t believe it.” The owner of the store then sat him down to explain his good fortune. β€œHe’s always joking around with me,” said Graham. β€œHe said, β€˜I know you won’t believe me, but you won $110,000.’ Then he took care of me, made sure I was all right before going home. That’s how in shock I was!”
