Charlotte Metro Bracing For ‘Vigorous’ Storms: Forecast
"A vigorous and moisture laden storm" is headed our way this week, according to forecasters. Here's when you can expect to see rain.
CHARLOTTE, NC — This week is about to get very soggy for the greater Charlotte metro, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain is expected to move into the region Tuesday, and will likely stick around for a couple of days, it said.
“A vigorous and moisture laden storm will likely bring periods of heavy rain to the region as early as Wednesday evening, but more likely Thursday. Excessive rainfall may lead to flooding during this time frame, especially for urban and poor drainage areas,” NWS said in a Feb. 3 hazardous weather outlook bulletin. “Thunderstorms may develop as early as Wednesday evening, but are more likely Thursday along and ahead of a cold front. Thunderstorms may become strong to severe Thursday with heavy rain, damaging winds, and small hail will be possible with any thunderstorms that develop.”
