Charlotte Police Identify Slain Driver Found In Car

A driver of a car found dead after his vehicle hit a utility pole was identified Tuesday morning by Charlotte Police.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The driver of a car found crashed into a utility pole and fatally shot Monday evening has been identified as Cornell Lamarche Bridges, Charlotte police said June 13.

Around 7 p.m. Monday evening, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a call of gunfire in the 4500 block of Hovis Road. Once there, however, another 911 call came in for the area stating that a man had been shot in his car.

Police found Bridges with an apparent gunshot wound in his car in the 300 block of North Hoskins Road. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics, CMPD said.
