Charlotte Police Searching For Suspect Wanted In North Charlotte Homicide

CMPD says Darius Jordan Perry is a suspect in the Aug. 24 slaying of De'Monte RaShawn Perkins in North Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Police have charged one suspect and are asking for the public’s help in their search for another who they say is wanted for the murder of a 22-year-old man last week in North Charlotte.

On Aug. 24, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police received a call that a man had been shot in the 5400 block of Windy Valley Drive. Once on the scene, paramedics pronounced De’Monte RaShawn Perkins, 22, dead. Three days later, CMPD detectives arrested Jacobe Levone Walker, 24, and charged him with murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police are now searching for Darius Jordan Perry, 19, who they say is also a suspect in Perkins’ murder.

Perry is considered armed and dangerous, CMPD said.

CMPD detectives have launched an investigation, and ask that anyone with information contact 704-432-TIPS and ask to speak to Detective Peden.
