Charlotte’s Holiday Parade Named 5th Best In Nation

CHARLOTTE, NC — The Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade has won national recognition as the fifth Best Holiday Parade in the country according to readers of USA Today.

Charlotte’s parade squared off against fierce competitors like Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York and the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Other notable entries included the Reston Holiday Parade, Baltimore Mayor's Annual Christmas Parade and the Annapolis Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade, which won the coveted title last year.

This year's 70th annual holiday parade, which is the fourth largest Thanksgiving Day parade in the country - was held Nov. 23. Here's what USA Today says about the parade:

“One of the largest parades in the Southeast takes place in Charlotte each Thanksgiving Day. The Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrates its 70th year in 2017 with a lineup of floats, live performances, marching bands, celebrities and dignitaries.”

9. Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade - Fort Lauderdale
10. McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade - Chicago
