Charlotte TSA Agent Convicted In Drug Conspiracy, Firearms Case

A federal jury has convicted a Charlotte TSA agent on drug conspiracy and firearms charges. He now faces a possible life sentence.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A TSA officer from Charlotte has been convicted by a federal jury for drug conspiracy and firearms charges.

Jamie Blunder, 48, was found guilty by the jury July 7 for his role as the leader of a drug network that trafficked cocaine, crack cocaine and other substances into the Charlotte and Greensboro regions, the Department of Justice said Tuesday.

“Trial evidence established that while Blunder did not utilize the Charlotte Douglas Airport to traffic narcotics, he did engage in drug dealing while dressed in his TSA uniform,” a DOJ statement said. “In addition, court records indicate that Blunder relied on his TSA position to avoid law enforcement detection while travelling to, within, and back from the Jamestown, High Point, and Greensboro areas.”
