Charlotte Woman Scores $1 Million Lottery Win: Here’s How

CHARLOTTE, NC β€” A Charlotte woman just won a $1 million prize by playing a $30 Supreme Richest lottery game, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

Annette Grier of Charlotte became the first person in the state to win a $1 million prize in the new $300 million game. She claimed her prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and opted for a lump sum payout of $424,509 after taxes..

According to NC Education Lottery, Grier bought the lucky $30 ticket at Grab N Go on York Road in Charlotte.

The $300,000,000 Supreme Riches game started in April and offers a top prize of $10 million. It offers six $1 million prizes that can be won instantly and four that can be won in second-chance drawings. The first second-chance drawing is scheduled for Aug. 7. Players have until July 31 to enter their Supreme Riches tickets into the drawing, NC Education Lottery said.
