Early voting in the primary race for Charlotte's mayor and some city council seats began Aug. 24. Here are five things you need to know.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Tuesday, Aug. 24 is the first day of early voting in the Charlotte primary election, and includes candidates for mayor as well as some city council districts.

This election includes both Democrat and Republican candidates for mayor, as well as at-large and some city council seats.

How long will the primary early voting last?
Early voting began Aug. 24 and will run through most weekdays through Saturday, Sept. 9. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, Sept. 12. You can find a calendar of early voting locations here.
Where do I go to vote?
There are numerous locations dedicated to early voting around Charlotte, but not all of them are open yet. You can find a calendar and map of voting location availability here.
Early voting locations include:
- Hal Marshall, 618 N. College St.
- Beatties Ford Road Library, 2412 Beatties Ford Rd.
- Independence Regional Library, 6000 Conference Dr.
- Main Library, 310 N. Tryon St.
- Rexford 1, 2100 Rexford Rd.
- South County Regional Library, 5801 Rea Road
- Steele Creek Library, 13620 Steele Creek Rd.
- Old Pier 1, 8802 JW Clay Blvd.
- West Boulevard Library, 2157 West Blvd.
