Charlotte, N.C. (August 13, 2019) – The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) announced the election of its new Board of Directors at its 98th Hospitality Training Conference, held July 27 - 30, 2019 at the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.
Tammy Calhoun, CHT, Director of Learning and Development for Charlotte-based Firebirds Wood Fired Grill has been named CHART Board member for 2019 – 2020. Calhoun joined Firebirds’ corporate team in 2016 to develop its talent and implement internal learning strategies and comprehensive training programs.

Calhoun has been a member of CHART since 2005 and was selected as conference director for CHART’s 92nd annual Hospitality Training Conference. For four years, she also participated in the WFF (Women’s Foodservice Forum), the premier leadership development community for collective insights and connects empowering women in the foodservice industry.
This new Board will continue to carry out key strategies for CHART including expanding the reach of its Hospitality Training Competencies Certificate Program, strengthening strategic industry partnerships, and providing exceptional professional and personal development experiences for its members. The Board also oversees CHART’s semi-annual hospitality training conferences which will be held February 22 - 25, 2020 at the Embassy Suites, Napa Valley, CA and July 25 - 28, 2020 at the Westin Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL. Newly this year, the Board will also oversee training content in CHART’s new Hospitality Training Magazine.
