Chesterbrook Academy Preschools Donate $14,000 to Make-A-Wish®

Chesterbrook Academy students visited Make-A-Wish® in Charlotte on Dec. 18 to present their donation to foundation representatives

On Dec. 18, Chesterbrook Academy Preschools in North Carolina and South Carolina delivered a donation of $14,000 to representatives from Make-A-Wish® Central & Western North Carolina in Charlotte. During the visit, students from Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Statesville Road in Huntersville presented a big check to Make-A-Wish® representatives and received a tour of the office to learn more about how their donation will help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Fourteen Chesterbrook Academy Preschools in Cary, Charlotte, Denver, Hickory, Huntersville, Mooresville, Raleigh and Weddington, N.C., as well as Columbia, S.C., partnered to work toward their collective goal of raising at least $10,500 for Make-A-Wish® this holiday season. The weeks of Dec. 4 and Dec. 11, each school held a series of “Wish Week” fundraisers, which included ornament sales, silent auctions, spaghetti dinners, bake sales, raffles, gift wrapping and more. At Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Providence Road West in Charlotte, students had the opportunity to throw a pie at their principal or decorate their assistant principal like a tree as a reward for their fundraising.

Last year, Chesterbrook Academy Preschools raised more than $8,000 for Make-A-Wish® through their collective efforts.
