Chesterbrook Academy Students Hold Celebratory Ladybug Release

Students recognized Earth Day by releasing 7,000 ladybugs in their schoolyard to help local vegetation

Students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool on Mallard Creek Road in Charlotte have caught the environmental bug! On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and taking care of the planet by releasing 7,000 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Chesterbrook Academy teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at an early age.
