Child in Critical Condition After Near Drowning In Apartment Pool
A child was rushed to Carolina's Medical Center with life threatening injuries after nearly drowning in a pool at The Reserve at Providence.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Charlotte Fire Department & Mecklengburg EMS (MEDIC) responded to a reported drowning at The Reserve at Providence Apartments. The call came into Charlotte Fire Alarm Dispatch at 4:10pm Saturday afternoon. The apartment complex is located at 5931 Providence Road.
According to a spokesperson for Mecklengburg EMS Agency (MEDIC), the child who's identity was not released was treated for life threatening injuries and transported to Carolinas Medical Center. The Mecklengburg EMS Agency (MEDIC) spokesperson said the drowning could have been a result of a medical emergency but that couldn't be confirmed late Saturday night.
An officer from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department told Patch at the scene that the investigation was ongoing. No one from the The Reserve at Providence Apartments wouldn't comment on the incident.
