Collaboration with the community will continue as the project heads toward concept design and approval. The City of Charlotte is expected to complete the project by the end of 2021.

In addition to the grant from Lowe’s, the city will contribute $50,000 toward the project from its

Corridors of Opportunity

Corridors of Opportunity aims to renew the City of Charlotte’s commitment to six key corridors, including the Beatties Ford Road corridor. Additional Corridors of Opportunity projects already underway in the area include
Access Charlotte,
Alternatives to Violence and the
Beatties Ford Road Parallel Bike Boulevard.

"The purpose behind Corridors of Opportunity is to implement the work our communities have identified and prioritized, to achieve the results they want to see," said District 2 Council Member Malcolm Graham. "Thanks to Lowe’s generous donation, we are able to deliver on that goal for Beatties Ford Road in a way that benefits families and builds neighborhood pride."
