Here are the top three stories today in Charlotte:
- Thursday, city of Charlotte leaders announced a $2 million partnership with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. This will bring back the Level Up program for teens at six YMCA branches. Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles said the program would remain free for participants and include meals and activities. (WCNC.com)
- A man was shot and killed as he entered a store in North Carolina. A suspect has been charged. High Point police officers responded to the shooting at a Walmart on Monday afternoon and found a man with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a local hospital where he died. Around 6 p.m., police said that Zyicoren A. Little of High Point was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. (WRAL)
- A chase that began in Salisbury ended in northeast Charlotte's Hidden Valley neighborhood Thursday morning. This chase was the result of a security/surveillance company worker spotting people trying to break into cars at the Colonial Village apartment complex at 3:43 a.m. Officers tried to stop the vehicle that the suspects were in and a chase began.
