Cityβs New Rules Kick Scooters Off Uptown Charlotte Sidewalks
New 'pedestrian only" sections of sidewalks will require e-scooters and bikes to ride on streets in specific areas of Uptown.

CHARLOTTE, NC β Electric scooters and bikes will now be sharing the road with vehicles in some areas of uptown Charlotte, which has has designated sections of sidewalk as βpedestrian only.β
The City of Charlotte painted the βpedestrian onlyβ markings on sidewalks in the area bound by Church Street, Stonewall Street, College Street and 7th Street, it said Thursday.
βBike, e-scooter and e-bike users should ride on the street in this restricted area,β it said.
